OPEN SHUTTER WINNERS ANNOUNCED

AFTER MUCH DELIBERATION and careful consideration, we are pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 First Edition OPEN SHUTTER Competition.

The three winners will now have a month-long group exhibition of their work in
The Photographers Lounge from October 2nd to November 1 2009.

The showcase evening will be on Friday 2nd October from 6pm - 10pm, so please do come along and join us for a celebration of exceptional work.

We were delighted with the amount of entrants we received and indeed the level of work that was submitted; choosing just three winners was quite a daunting task and we couldn't have done it without our fantastic Panel of Judges.

WHAT IS THE OPEN SHUTTER PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION?
OPEN SHUTTER is an open competition for any photographer working with either film, digital or photo-based media. OPEN SHUTTER offers unique opportunities for emerging photographers to have their work exhibited in the Photographers Lounge gallery, promoted online and reviewed by independent, well-respected panelists.

THE PHOTOGRAPHERS LOUNGE
Unlike in the USA and the rest of Europe, gallery space exclusively for photography is very limited in the UK. The Photographers Lounge has rapidly become synonymous with the promotion of photography as an art form, and its growing reputation has meant that it is now a must-visit gallery for art-lovers and photographers alike.

UNPARALLELED UK EXPOSURE
Twice a year, three lucky winners will have the opportunity to have their work exclusively exhibited and for sale in the Photographers Lounge for a month. Coupled with the opportunity to have their work reviewed, as well as continuing exposure on the Photographers Lounge website, the OPEN SHUTTER competition is the best thing going for emerging photographers.

OPEN TO ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME!
The competition is open to submissions from any photographer, whatever their experience, and from anywhere in the world. Each bi-annual competiton has a deadline in order to judge and choose the winners for each exhibition, but as soon as one competition ends, the next starts, so you can enter whenever you choose. And whilst you are restricted to one entry of three images per competition, you can enter as many competitions as you like.
